We have come a long way very fast and computer networking is becoming a household chore. People want to become more familiar with computer networking tips because they rely on the Internet connection in day to day life.

Computer networking tips for the home user

If you have your own home network which includes:

**At least two computers,

**And Internet connection,

**And possibly a router,

Then these networking tips are for you.

Computer network security

Once people have their computers networked and connected to the Internet they neglect to secure their connection. This is especially necessary when you have a wireless Internet signal.

There are a few ways to set up network security. One includes configuring your router security settings and enabling it to use a secure password. This means that when people want to connect to your network, they will need to enter the password.

If you do not set a network security password you are inviting people to log on to your network and see all the files you are sharing, and possibly even or change them. This all depends on your settings, however it is much better to be safe than sorry.

Wired VS Wireless

Getting a wireless connection isn't everything that it's cracked up to be. It really depends on where you live as to how fast it is. It also depends on how far the signal has to go. If you can possibly connect your network together with wires (cables) then you will undoubtedly have a faster connection. Wireless sounds fancy and is very convenient, however it is not as fast as connecting network cables.

I actually preferred to have a wired network in my home to avoid interference from other devices in my home. For example the simple telephone interferes with a wireless network connectionBusiness Management Articles, as does a TV remote control. You will be amazed at what devices are being used in your house that can interfere with a wireless Internet connection.

Amazon to support Oracle database in the cloud

Amazon to support Oracle database in the cloud

Amazon Web Services has set out plans to make Oracle Database 11g available via the Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS), during the second quarter of 2011.

Amazon RDS is a web service designed to make it easier to set up, operate, and scale a relational database in the cloud.

Amazon says the service will include flexible pricing options for customers.

“Those with existing Oracle licenses will be able to run Oracle Databases on Amazon RDS with no additional software licensing or support charges. Those without existing Oracle licenses can take advantage of on-demand hourly licensing with no upfront fees or long-term commitments.”

Mark Townsend, vice president of Oracle Database Server Technologies, said: "Amazon continues to be a pioneer in cloud computing, and we've worked closely together to make sure that the power of the Oracle portfolio is available to customers who want to run them in the AWS cloud. With more and more Oracle Database users interested in running on AWS, we are working with AWS to make sure the ease of fulfilment and platform agility of Amazon RDS is available for the Oracle Database."
